Beautifully played, fast speeds, smooth sound, what more could you want? Well a bit of character in these most showy of concertos would be nice.
You wouldn't imagine that anyone could make these extroverted, operatic pieces sound so unremittingly boring, but this is exactly what Frost manages to do. He can probably play this difficult music standing on his head and it shows.

Thea King, Emma Johnson, or Anthony Pay with period instruments are all far, far better than this.
The stars are for the superb playing and sound quality only.
