Review

www.karenplatt.co.uk: Simple loom weaving with seventeen projects worked on a rigid heddle loom. The projects range from wearable items such as bags, scarves and belts to placemats, cushions and rugs. This 127 page book is an enthusiastic guide to working on a small, portable loom. Almost half the book is a how to use your lom guide, the rest is what to create with it. It shows you the basics of getting to grips with your loom and how to create many useful projects. The book is clearly photographed and written and instructions are easy to follow. The fabrics created are varied enough to give you a thorough grounding in the possibilities for more exploration on your own. Each of the projects are well chosen, usable, varied and fun to make. This is an excellent book for learning the techniques of weaving on a rigid heddle and the patterns and fabric you can create.

Anyone can learn, using nothing more than their hands, their imagination, and their third-grade math."Weaving Made Easy" shows how to make sinuous, drapey fabrics; sturdy, practical fabrics; fun, funky fabrics. Projects range from scarves and tops to bags and belts, from pillows and placemats to rugs and blankets.Eighteen projects with complete instructions, clear step-by-step photographs, and abundant tips and techniques for color, design, construction, and embellishment make this the ultimate idea book for the would-be weaver.

Great Rigid Heddle introduction 17 Nov 2008
By D. Pohorelow - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I really like this book. The photos are very clear and the text is easy to understand. This book will take you through your very first faltering steps into weaving and beyond. The projects are interesting and ones I would use. They are well presented and each project teaches a new skill. Highly recommend this book for beginners and even more advanced weavers.

It really does make weaving easy! 24 Dec 2008
By Marsha A. Smith - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is the best book for a beginning weaver I have found. I am a self taught weaver, using pipe looms, cards, and a rigid heddle loom. Sometimes threading a rigid heddle can get difficult (for me anyway!) and Liz Gipson really does a good job explaining and has great pictures to help. The projects are not too difficult, but there is enough to interest a more advanced weaver. I really liked this book. Ignore the review about a few mis-spelled words. It doesn't detract from the book.

Finally!! 22 Dec 2008
By Maddy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I had been looking forward to the release of this book for several months. It was worth the wait! I love my rigid heddle loom. I have had it almost a year now, but have struggled with ideas and patterns. I started weaving the houndstooth check pattern from the book immediately, but made it into a holiday runner with red and green. Awesome Christmas gift! Hope to see more books like this in the future!
