This book is unusual because it combines the personal story of Tim Drake (who went from £5 million plus net worth to nearly zero in a short space of time, and how he built back from that experience) with a guide to how others could usefully learn from some of the lessons he experienced.
I found it fascinating how the whole book sets this learning context within a wider social vision. It shows how the Social, or Team Sector can be galvanised by people who have grown in attitude and skill by becoming what the author calls Independent Business Generators.
This concept, which is central to the book explains how individuals can add more to their companies or organisations, and get more personal satisfaction (and ultimately more money) by thinking and operating as independent people consistently adding more value to their work.
This concept is expanded in the introduction to the paperback edition, which I have just read.
Challenging, but a worth while read.
