Product Description

The Daily Telegraph

Drake works hard at building up your mental energy, so that you can succeed, because without that you're dead in the water...The lesson - that it is possible to survive and prosper - can be an inspirational one. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

Mark Goyder, Director, The Centre for Tomorrow's Company

We are living in a world in which the only security lies in embracing insecurity. Tim Drake's book makes this paradox painfully clear and offers a useful agenda for all of us, however falsely secure we feel. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

After reading it, you either are transformed, or leave to see others prosper for ever. Its contents and inspiration see beyond the horizons of this millenium.

A challenging read that really does leave you wiser 5 Oct 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This book is unusual because it combines the personal story of Tim Drake (who went from £5 million plus net worth to nearly zero in a short space of time, and how he built back from that experience) with a guide to how others could usefully learn from some of the lessons he experienced.

I found it fascinating how the whole book sets this learning context within a wider social vision. It shows how the Social, or Team Sector can be galvanised by people who have grown in attitude and skill by becoming what the author calls Independent Business Generators.

This concept, which is central to the book explains how individuals can add more to their companies or organisations, and get more personal satisfaction (and ultimately more money) by thinking and operating as independent people consistently adding more value to their work.

This concept is expanded in the introduction to the paperback edition, which I have just read.

Challenging, but a worth while read.
