Throw away your drugs, your gym subscription, your cigarettes, here is an addiction that will cost you the price of a piece of paper and colour ink per fix.
This book is just an amazing introduction to a world I knew nothing of, a world populated by creative paper model building geniuses, who mate with amazing graffiti artists and give away their many children for free. I didn't realise that oragami wasn't cool until I began flicking through the pages.
To clarify and be more practicle with this review let me tell you what this book actually is. It showcases the work of 32 paper artists, each one has built paper models that are a cross between an airfix model and oragami. Each model is beautifully coloured, sometimes by the artist, often by other artists using the same basic templates. The book also contains a disc so many of these wonderful creatures suddenly become instantly obtainable, load the disk, print off the template on a colour printer, build the toy with sissors, glue and a modeling knife. Instantly you will want to build another. Even if you build all the models on the disc, the book keeps on giving, the website for each artist is given in the book and if you go to the wesites they tend to have even more, free to download, templates. My daughters were also instantly hooked and dinky little paper creatures are taking over our house!!
I rarely write reviews but Louis Bou, if you're reading, thank you for bringing this uniquely creative artform into my world!
