Throw away your drugs, your gym subscription, your cigarettes, here is an addiction that will cost you the price of a piece of paper and colour ink per fix.
This book is just an amazing introduction to a world I knew nothing of, a world populated by creative paper model building geniuses, who mate with amazing graffiti artists and give away their many children for free. I didn't realise that oragami wasn't cool until I began flicking through the pages.
To clarify and be more practicle with this review let me tell you what this book actually is. It showcases the work of 32 paper artists, each one has built paper models that are a cross between an airfix model and oragami. Each model is beautifully coloured, sometimes by the artist, often by other artists using the same basic templates. The book also contains a disc so many of these wonderful creatures suddenly become instantly obtainable, load the disk, print off the template on a colour printer, build the toy with sissors, glue and a modeling knife. Instantly you will want to build another. Even if you build all the models on the disc, the book keeps on giving, the website for each artist is given in the book and if you go to the wesites they tend to have even more, free to download, templates. My daughters were also instantly hooked and dinky little paper creatures are taking over our house!!
I rarely write reviews but Louis Bou, if you're reading, thank you for bringing this uniquely creative artform into my world!

Super, terrific, great...a quality guide/book to some of the most well known paper toy artists around. An easy recommendation for anyone with an interest in paper toys or anyone that would like to know more, and make more - you also get a super cd with all the toys to print off and make.

The book provides a nice collection of photographs of paper toy models but what I wanted were the templates. Note, the CD contains a meager representation of templates demonstrated in the book. Also, many are available to download for free from the designer's website. Had I known this, I wouldn't have made this purchase.

My 10 year old child loves this book...hours of enjoyment 17 May 2011
By Irishgal - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
My 10 year old son loves this book. He has had it over a year (so got it at just 9). He is creative, the origami type so it is his thing anyway but other children coming to the house, not so into paper art enjoy it too. But if you do have a child that enjoys origami or other paper art this is the book for them. Hours of cutting, folding etc.. and the cutest little toys as a result. So you look at the book and if there is a paper toy of interest most of the time it is on the CD to print out (we use the CD on a windows platform, not sure about mac) Any of the projects print on one sheet of paper only...so not sheets and sheets for one item. If a paper toy that is in the book is not on the CD my son tells me you can go to a website and find it there. I have not counted but plenty on the CD anyway. WE have taped or pasted the little toys standing on to a piece of card as a greeting card and friends/teachers seem to like them. This book and a small pointed, scissors would make any parent or child very happy.

Not Perforated...You must print and cut *some* designs, not everything in the book. 10 Nov 2013
By Drive-By Reviewer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
There is no indication of which projects pictured in the book are on the CD. There are no previews of the projects on the CD. Some of the ones I looked at didn't even show what the final toy would look like. You have to print out and cut out which projects you want to do, which compared to other books of this type, is a huge pain. Other books, like Papertoy Monsters (Papertoy Monsters Make Amazing Papertoys have the body parts all perforated and easy to punch out. That book is waaayyyy better than this book.
