Allessandra Celletti is a very accomplished pianist from Rome. She issued several critically acclaimed records spanning from her reading of the French Impressionists, Ravel, Debussy to her own electronic music experimenting sounds and patterns. Then she gave her vision to less known composers from Prague, recording one of the very best interpretations of Leos Janacek's "On An Overgrown Path". But when she was let to gave her personal touch to Erik Satie's works, her master, she took a level of a reference interpretation, deeply prayer-like felt yet full of Satie's oblique humour and joy. The same deep artistic research was applied by Alessandra Celletti when to record the rare, amusing, mysterious, esotheric music of Gurdjeff/DeHartmann in another masterpiece gem. After some other great recordings such as an immaginative version of Philip Glass piano music and a Scott Joplin ragtime album, she dedicated at last herself in the developing of her own compositions for solo piano, gathered in two astounding albums: "Chi mi darà le ali" and "The Golden Fly", respectively from 2006 and 2007. She have had the top level reviews by several specialized press and magazines and gave memorable concerts. The open minded, graceful avanguardist attitude, lead her to collaborate with elecronic pioneers such as Joachim Roedelius. This is her last album, another cult, where she started to experiment her angelic voice over delicate melodies with acoustic percussons and drums, defining a new language. I highly recommend this album, one of her very best works. One of the very best works in european contemporary music.
