Nottingham band,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Way I Feel Today (Audio CD)
I think Six By Seven would be very displeased at any, even slight, comparison to Stereophonics or Oasis. The reality could hardly be further from the truth. This Nottingham band get more uncompromising and closer to the towering sound of their live shows with every release, and in "So Close" they succeed in matching the power and intensity of their gigs when the song explodes into life about a minute in - it's rabbit in the headlights time. Or rather, rabbit between the speakers. This is a very dark record - while still retaining some of the slow-burning menace from their first album, "The Way I Feel Today" takes the punk mayhem of the second to the next level on "Bad Man" and "Cafeteria Rats", making it at once more cohesive and arresting. It's easy to track the evolution of their sound, and trust me, they won't stop here.

A brilliant live band and a highly recommended album.,

The third album is the shortest but in no way comprimised. The song writing has taken on a whole new level since their guitariest left. This album untilises the extreme fragility of The Things We Make and the anger of The Closer You Get to create something that Six By Seven should be proud of. A brilliant live band and a highly recommended album.

REAL ROCK!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Way I Feel Today (Audio CD)
At last an album that means what it says, no nu-metal posturing here, but wistful, longing tracks about loss and love. The overall tone is fairly dark and heavy but there lighter moments and "IOU Love" is one of the finest singles of 2002. In the rich vein of British punk/alternative rock, this is a superb collection of Midlands Melancholy.BUY IT NOW!.
