Review

'Geoff Hill has an outstanding writing talent with a wicked sense of fun. For all the hilarious observations and polished one-liners, there is also thoughtful, informative travelogue.' Martyn Lewis, broadcaster. '...a distinctive brand of travel journalism that manages to combine side-splitting hilarity with acuity of observation and a real insight into what makes cultures tick. A joyful and enlightening read.' Julie Shmueli and David Rosenberg, Travelex UK Travel Writing awards. 'He has wonderful views on life, a great turn of phrase and a great sense of humour. His off-beat observations and zany outlook on life are laugh-out-loud funny.' John Mullin, Independent 'Remarkable, astonishing writing.' Jeremy Atiyah, Independent on Sunday

This book is written with a quick quirky sence of humour that is side splitting funny. It is a long time, if ever, since I have laughed so long and so hard at a serious book. I don't often read a book more than once but this is one which i will happily read over and over again and each time get more out of it's pages. I look forward to Geoff's next book.

I couldn't stop turning the pages, I loved reading it and wanted it to keep going. The author's sense of humour is evident on every page, treating disasters and setbacks with a sense of fun to get you through.
Loved this book, can't wait to read more of his stuff.

Maybe the Way to go, but not the Way to Write about it.
I'm completely out of tune with those many enthusiastic reviews, some on the covers from v. respectable scources. Had they read the same book, I wondered. Read more

A good read, but like many of this genre the end of the journeys always feel rushed. It's as if the author documents the research and departure from home (or journey base), but... Read more

Light hearted and witty.
This is a good light read. The fast moving commentary is a witty, humourous style, far more Michael Palin than Alan Wicker. Read more

First half - great. Second half not so
As you will know by now the book is divided into 2 halves. The first half, the India trip, is brilliant. He's funny, there's lots of details about the adventure and the bike. Read more

Does not live up to the cover!
Very disappointing. I really expected this to be a good read, but really it wasn't even interesting, lots of the 'side-splittingly funny' quips were so contrived as to be almost... Read more
