Oh! So Easy Solar Panel,

This solar panel was Oh! so Easy to fit and it worked straight out of the box. The figures below for voltage etc were taken during the first week of September.I am in central France where the days can be very hot in Summer(36C+) and VERY cold (-20C) in Winter. Something which ought to be born in mind by people living further north. Without being connected to my battery bank on my narrowboat this panel gives almost twenty volts at midday to 4PM at the end of August/start of September and drops off to around 16Volts by 5PM. Covering half the panel up at midday with a thick black plastic bag reduced the voltage to 14V. Which gives you a good idea as to the panel's efficiency. With a charge controller fitted to the solar panel circuit to reduce the input voltage to around 13V. I found, at 3PM, that the amount of current from the panel was about 5.5 Amps which dropped off to 4 Amps as some heavy clouds passed overhead. That said, the panel is susceptible brief changes in cloud cover no matter how minor they may seem to be. The panel is quite light to handle yet feels strong enough for the job. Just how well the panel's elements will put up with hail and snow has yet to be seen. Perhaps I will have an opportunity to report on this later. I would like to buy another later on, why didn't I buy two at first? , and so hopefully keep my batteries fully charged. This is certainly worth recommending and, as I say, buying again. Purchased this item to complete my solar system up to 1 Kw power as my roof was too small to have a free fit solar system , so built my own on my shed roof facing south; they work a treat. They came well be for time stated , thanks
