After having thrown away the rechargeable small waterpik as the battery won't hold it's charge, i bought this one! So far I have been impressed with it. It holds enough water to get round all of my teeth in one go. I find though that I have to have the power on full to feel that I am getting the benefit. I don't like the tongue scraper accessory as the manual tongue scraper I have does a better job and I don't use the other accessories either. Also it is worth knowing that the two pin plug on the unit won't run from your electric socket in the bathroom as that doesn't give out enough power, I have to plug it into an extension lead from my bedroom, making sure to cover the plug with a towel so the splashes don't drop on it and cause a problem! All in all it is a good buy and well worth the money if you want clean teeth and gums and fresh breath!

This is a powerful,effective device,I brush,use dental sticks and floss in the usual way,then finish with the water jet.I have the pump set at its highest pressure - not suitable for everyone - begin with a low setting until you find a pressure which suits you.
when the reservoir is filled and placed on the base,gently press down to make sure it is fully located - this will ensure maximum pressure.Direct the water jet toward the gumline - oral organisms are obliterared en masse.

I have used Waterpiks for years and wouldn't be without one. The battery powered travel model is less effective and was not good for behind the lower teeth, but it is useful for travelling.
The WP-100 on this page is definitely more effective. Even after rinsing my mouth thoroughly, or chewing gum or waiting several hours after a meal Waterpiks remove obvious food debris from around the teeth, more so than interdental sticks or brushes. My dental hygienist says my gums look better.
There are some problems with the WP-100, though I have no evidence any other product is better.
It needs a mains extension lead into a UK bathroom.
Within a couple of weeks of first use the outer insulation of the mains lead broke because of a poor grommet. Replacing cable or grommet is not an amateur task.
The handle developed a leak after about a year. Waterpik UK replaced the handle free of charge. No other repair is practicable.
After a while using the 'Pause' button on both the original and replacement handles caused them to stick in the closed position until the machine was switched off, a slight inconvenience.
Of the attachments the only one I've used is a spare jet to replace one which broke at the machine end for no obvious reason. The other tips will be useful for some users.
The idea of this kind of product is brilliant. The issues mentioned detract from an otherwise excellent machine. If mine broke now, I would still buy another WP-100 because of the obvious benefit to oral hygiene and because my mouth feels better after using it.

England unsuitable
This product is unsuitable for use in England as 13amp mains sockets are not permitted to be in bathrooms or adjacent to sinks therefore it is to all intentes and purposes... Read more

The best money spent.
