Product Description

The first ten episodes from the fourth season of the BBC drama series set in a failing inner-city comprehensive. Head teacher Rachel Mason (Eva Pope) returns ready to take on the challenges of a new school year, but is unprepared for the dangers that will face her and the entire school with the arrival of the Kelly family. Meanwhile hot new sports teacher Rob Cleaver (Elyes Gabel) joins the staff, Grantly Budgen (Philip Martin Brown) has separated from his wife and Steph Haydock (Denise Welch) has found happiness at last in the arms of the new school security guard.

Product Description

United Kingdom released, PAL/Region 2 DVD: LANGUAGES: English ( Dolby Digital 2.0 ), English ( Subtitles ), WIDESCREEN (1.78:1), SPECIAL FEATURES: 3-DVD Set, Box Set, Interactive Menu, Photo Gallery, Scene Access, SYNOPSIS: Head Teacher Rachel Mason returns ready to take on the challenges of a new year and a new family, the Kellys, who have arrived on her doorstep. It won't take long before they make their presence felt - and the entire school comes under siege with the appearance of a very dangerous weapon. Rachel has also brought on board a new Head of Extended Services, someone who may be the right person, but for all the wrong reasons; and a new sports teacher Rob Cleaver, who sees potential in Bolton in the boxing ring. He's easy on the eyes - especially where the girls are concerned - but hard on his star pupil and on any teacher who gets in his way. Elsewhere in the school, Grantly Budgen is married to a new toupee, but separated from his wife; Steph Haydock is finding something approaching security with the new school security guard, and alongside the emotional trials faced by Chlo and Donte, Earl Kelly is seducing Maxine away from everyone she loves in a relationship that can only end badly. There are tests and trials aplenty for all who work and study at Waterloo Road - but this term promises to be one of the most punishing and rewarding yet. ...Waterloo Road - Series 4 - Autumn Term - 3-DVD Box Set ( Waterloo Road: Series 4 - Autumn ) ( Waterloo Road - Series Four - Autumn Term )

The series begins well, as Rachel returns to her headship with a warm welcome from staff and students. From then on a rather unconvincing series of events unfolds: the school bends backwards to accommodate a disruptive family; a teacher whose life is tormented by that family ends up taking them into his home; the Chair of the Board admits to unethical practices in seeking to discredit that family further ...

At times the series works well. Rachel and Eddie are strong characters which make the series viewable, but it is let down by an unconvicing plot. Watch it, enjoy it, but don't expect to be convinced by it.

This series of Waterloo Road is surely one of the best and that's why we purchased it. Excellent acting and story lines - and much better than the current series.

My daughter is a huge fan so it makes sense to have the boxed set so she can watch them over and over, whenever she wants. If you're a fan of the show you'll love these sets.
