Product Description

Product Description

What better way to 'read' the momentous Battle of Waterloo than to follow the movements of the main military commanders on that fateful day (18 June 1815). For the British side of the action, we dog the footsteps, and learn about the decisions and actions of The Duke of Wellington. For the French perspective we follow both Napoleon Bonaparte and his right-hand man Marshal Ney, who in fact played the more critical role.

2.0 out of 5 stars Let down by the typos 28 Sep 2012
Format:Paperback
Having read many books about Waterloo and having walked the area several times, I was looking forward to what promised to be a different perspective. Indeed it is such, but thoroughly spoiled by the many typos. A spell checker could have found some but not most and a potentially pleasurable read was often interrupted by the thought that, since a human eye might not have been cast over the proofs of the book, the factual details might also be questionable.
If there is a second printing perhaps the author would ask someone to proof-read it first, someone who knows the difference between 'their' and 'there'.
