Biff Bang Pow! were the original house band of the Creation label that would later give home to flagship acts like the Felt, the House of Love and My Bloody Valentine. Their sound is a positive mix of 80s British psychedlia akin to the Television Personalities, the folksy, jangly sound of bands as diverse as Lloyd Cole/Commotions & r.e.m. to the gentle, dreamy haze of later Creation pre-shoegaze indie pop. Any fan of jangly guitar pop should pick up this album, as they would be more than certain to find Biff Bang Pow! an interesting discovery within any genre. This 23 Track compilation is the best representation of the band throughout their career. It also comes to be the most solid album in their catalogue, seeing as it gathered their strongest material along side singles on one masterfully structured disc.
Now, I cut it straight. No more silly words. Trust me when I say, if you an old fan or a new ear, this band was one of the great ones. Let them be shown for it. As far as the compilation, it's one of the best I have ever encountered.
