I recently watched the Deepa Mehta film "Water" which was entrancing. This was greatly achieved by the soundtrack so I had to buy it. This music is stunning. If you love Indian classical music then you should love this - it has been cleverly transformed into a fusion sound world that just draws you in - and its so emotional. Listen to it!

I was introduced to the music before the film, and since I've had the CD, I've played it over and over again. The fusion of western and Indian music is heartstopping in places, wistful, and driven, by turns. I've yet to see the film, but I'm sure the music must add to it in no small measure. Wonderful stuff.

While no one disputes the genious of A R Rahman, I would like to note the contribution and talent of the lyrisit and interpreter of the songs, "Bollywood" playback singing star Sukhwinder Singh. Rahman's songs are only made better when he collaborates with Sukhwinder, and Sukhwinder's incredible vocals always hit a home run. This is great music from a great film. But I still wish I could have a whole hour-long album of Sukhwinder singing Rahman...

This is a wonderful, complex album. It has moments of haunting beauty as well as lively playfullness. It's like a wine you want to keep drinking.

A purely beautiful soundtrack which will make you relive this hauntingly beautiful movie by Deepa Mehta.

I have seen this movie a number of times, taking friends each time to see it. Not one person is not moved by it. I have offered the soundtrack too. Do not hesitate in getting it if you have seen the movie. Superb, both movie and music.
