Anyone who has bought the first four series of "Watching" will not be disappointed by this series. The writing is just as sharp, the acting is just as brilliant.
Everybody in it is excellent but Emma Wray has to be singled out for her performance as Brenda. Her character is so central to the whole storyline and to find that balance of being so infuriating and yet so endearing is an achievement. Her disappearance from our screens has been a great loss.
Possibly in this series the tone swings towards the story and away from the comedy situations as Malcolm and Brenda's relationship falls apart (yet again). If you are caught up in the story, then the scenes where Brenda's sadness at losing Malcolm is revealed in full (i.e. the RSPB mug scene and the one as Malcolm and Lucinda leave the church) will certainly move you.
If I have one criticism it is that the quality of the recordings is not of the highest standard. But the strength of the writing and the acting far outweigh this.

A very good DVD. Absolutely enjoy this series, very funny. Nothing on TV at present to match it! Quality of DVD good & as described by Seller. Came very quickly & well packaged.

Series 5 is a Classic with all the thrills and spills of a roller coaster all rolled in to one, as brilliant writing and screen play and Brenda and Malcolm's relationship up and downs keeping us in suspense.
I really felt for Brenda when she did not get to the Church in time to stop Malcolm marrying Lucinda, even though you could see the spark was still there between them both.
I have already orderes series 6 & 7 and cant wait to watch then, the only downside is no more after series 7
This is a must for all watching fans.

An excellent sitcom of the 1990s, well written, well acted and has stood the test of time very well. Far better than anything on the TV today
