5.0 out of 5 stars watching 4 Sep 2009
Format:DVD
this is a must for the 80s TV shows Emma Wray is ace & this program just keeps getting better as we go along with the series, in series 5 we got to see Malcolm getting married & we could see in Brenda's eyes this was not the end of Malcolm & Brenda, I only got to see the first & second series back in the 80s as we moved up north and they didn't show watching, I am over the moon to see this program on DVD as like Malcolm & Brenda I am 6ft the wife 4ft 11" & my wife is very like Brenda in her ways & I love Emma Wray she is a brilliant actor, Watching is a first class program from the 1980s & it just keeps getting better now the potty mother has come along in series 5 & at Malcolm's wedding I so wanted Brenda to object to the wedding & walk off with Malcolm instead we got to see the look on Brenda's face I felt gutted for her, I will admit the first series was boring but in series 2 they started to get the program going & Brenda & her ways kept us coming back for more, I play these DVD's over & over again as they are so funny & this program is a credit to all the actors that made this program what it is one of the best programs ever on TV it's first class all the way.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Classic! 21 Nov 2009
By I.W.
Format:DVD
I had only a vague memory of watching this series as a kid, but I bought the first series out of nostalgic curiosity, and I was instantly hooked. Emma Wray and Paul Bown absolutely are superb as Brenda and Malcolm, the on-off pair who are just about the most miss-matched couple imaginable. They bring a really charming quality to the story, and they really invest in their characters. Brilliant comic timing the pair of them.

The supporting cast are excellent, my favorites being the wonderful Liza Tarbuck as Brenda's big sister Pam, and the fabulous and totally hilarious Noreen Kershaw, as their mum, Joyce. She doesn't appear until the later series but was much talked about from the very beginning, and when she finally appears you don't believe that they could have found someone so perfectly insane and spot-on for the part. A bit of a casting coup!

A real gem of a series, lost in the mists of sitcom time until now, so buy it and enjoy!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Watching- best sit com ever 16 Nov 2009
Format:DVD
Finally after many many years of waiting Watching is now on DVD. Malcom is married, but not to Brenda, but they can't keep apart and meet on the quiet. They eventually get back together, when their new partners fall for each other, priceless.
