Right from the very start with the ambient "London is swinging by his neck" to the rockabilly jauntiness of Silver Apples' "I have known" this whole album oozes the class that has always surrounded Mr Weatherall.
Included in this CD are rare tracks, excellent remixes and a sublime dub mix from the man himself.
We start with two eerie ambient tracks to set the mood with Beataville's "Keeping Barry in check" progressing nicely through it's clever sounds and enticing beat.
"Veni Vidi Vici" and Cosmo Vitelli's "Converted" pick the pace up nicely with the latter being one of the funkiest tracks I've heard in a while. This leads into a sublime and jazzy track by Maximum Joy.
Next, a highlight of this tremendous album is Mock and Toof's "Beat Up". Strange but oh so catchy. You'll find it hard not to be tapping away.
The next three tracks continue the funkiness but also maintain the varied edge to this album. Funk, beats, ambience and tremendous mixes from AW and Chicken Lips.
Track 10 though is where the money is! This gem of a track is worth the wait. A relentless beat with strange blips and squeaks takes you right back to AW's work 10-15 years ago but this time we've got vocals. Siouxsie did a tremendous job on this one.
A rare selection is next, something a little more commercial! But Simian Mobile Disco's "State of things" doesn't sound out of place and fits beautifully into the mix.
I could go on and on about this album but I ought to leave a few surprises for you. This quite simply is worth every single one of your had earned pennies!
