Watch It Glow (title taken from the hook line of the single, like all simian's titles - chemistry is what we are from one dimension and we are your freinds from never be alone) is a decent opener to simian's career. the first track, Drop and Roll, (about a house burning down) rambles along inside a country kitchen (you can hear chairs squeaking and cupboards closing) before the rhythm section kicks in and brings it up to a melodic La-along. it is as far as i can tell the same version that also opens Chemistry. In Siam is a one-chord wonder, bizarre but beautiful. The Wisp is a unique version - most similar to the album version but with even more squelchy beeps and squibs. after this, Grey (a perfect manchester song) is single quality - a mix of analogue synth, banjo and mad, Kaoss Pad enhanced vocals, and Won't is interesting but too odd to be another stand out track. the 6th track (untitled) serves as an overture to Chemistry is what we Are and it's b-sides, sampling many songs and mixing them together in no particular order or style. it does show how far they planned their music ahead though, and how they managed to transorm their sound so radically with We Are Your Freinds.
