Quite a disappointment. Appears to be much a self contained Book, adding little or even nought to the main story. Can't say much more without spoilers but it's almost worth skipping if you're enjoying the main story line.

Great read.... not exactly part of the whole Wasteland premis but a good interlude on the way to A-Ree-Yass-I.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay- now that you have done this, what next 14 Nov 2009

A total shift from the rest of teh series. I am awaiting to see how all this ties in together because it is nebulous at best. What was good was the thought process in developing this new society with it rules based dog behaviour etc. where it fit? hmmm weeeeelll. can we do without it? probably. will I stop reading the series - NEVER! this is rich and I see some psi-wars happening in the different face-offs.

My only fear - too many side-tracks taken and a watered down effect of a nice tight story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than expected 16 Oct 2009

I was a little leery of picking up this volume after Volume 3 wrapped up a large part of what had been going on, but I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The story shifts gears and follows the quest for ah-ree-aas-ee (Area C?) and an encounter with a semi-nomadic tribe whose culture is based on dog pack dynamics and the extensive use of dogs for hunting and protection. Before reading this I thought the idea might be handled poorly but the author pulls it off really well, and makes the tribe dynamics interesting and functional. If you liked the previous volumes definitely pick this one up.
5.0 out of 5 stars Wasteland is Post-Apocolyptic Goodness! 11 Sep 2009

Wasteland has it all.
Storytelling. "Western" style Post-Apocalypse adventure. "Indie" stylistic line art in black and white. Atmosphere and world-building. Did I mention Storytelling.
Fantastic writing with high-action art that seems at home in this genre.
