I have not stopped listening to this album. It calms me on the tube, and makes me smile walking down he street...ESP "not the drinking" which is sooo catchy. LOVE it !!! Best thing I have bought all year and She's amazing live...the reason I bought this.

A fantastic debut album which I have not stopped listening to since I bought it. Lauren has an amazing voice and it's good to see young talent having the courage to write their own songs and music rather than having to listen to the mindless trash we have to suffer from X Factor and similar.

A big big debut album here. I've heard a lot of manufactured rubbish over the last few years so Lauren brings a welcome break from the norm. It's deep, uplifting in parts and bleak in others... huge vocals & interesting arrangements... 'The Island Effect' for sure. A concept album that delivers on so many levels, not least for finally releasing the full array of talent of Ms Pritchard onto the public. Hear her live & it validates every song & lyric sung on this album, she means it all and I suspect this raconteur is only going to get stronger as her career progresses.

In the era of the TV pop production line we absolutely HAVE to get behind raw talent like Lauren, she's a glimmer of hope in a music industry dominated by talent-show-tabloid-here-today-gone-tomorrow wannabies.

Five Star Album. No doubt about it.

Lauren Pritchard has an exquisitely beautiful bluesy, soulful voice
. . . incredible musical ability and adeptness from a beautiful songbird!
I went to see her perform in Middlesbrough (UK) a few weeks ago and she was even better live than on CD.
I concluded the evening thinking that she was allready up there with the greats . . . seriously.
. . . and she's only 22!
Make mine a Jack Daniels!
Enjoy

It's been four years since the appearance of this album and the world still doesn't seem to have caught on to Lauren Pritchard. Perhaps it's the cover of this gem of an album, which makes her appear to be a runner-up in an X-Factor type show. That she is most assuredly not. She has an engaging, throaty voice and a nice way with a downbeat lyric that sets her apart from songstrels like Taylor Swift. Add to that punchy arrangement and production by Eg White and you have a real winner. Track to sample? Try "I Hope It's You".
