Recently got this book from the local bookshop, cheaper than Amazon have it priced at. So recommend you shop around first. Having said that the book is a gem. Some great ideas. Recipes can be searched for by three options: by time (10, 20, 30 mins or more): by ingredient: or by the named recipe.
this book is amazing - as a poor student who frequently forgets about the food in the cupboard before it goes off this book is full of useful and fun ideas that taste amazing!
recipes are indexed by time of cooking or name of ingredient, making it really easy to use, and it also has some interesting combinations for the more adventurous tasters!
This is a fantastic book. It's written by a chef with the aim of making cooking with leftovers inspirational and creative. From fried sushi to BBQ sauce made right in the bottle, this book has a wealth of appetising ideas. There is even a section on preserving, including a recipe for Dulce de Leche (on my hob as we speak) and a simple chicken pate in a jar (similar to pork rillettes) to use up that single cooked chicken breast and give it a new lease of life.
Some of the ideas are bizarre - chocolate coated pasta anyone? Or perhaps gnocchi with strawberries? But the author's main aim is to get us looking at leftovers in a new and creative light.
For those of us who equate leftovers cooking with endless pasta bakes and boring bubble & squeak, this is a breath of fresh air. A must for anyone with a love of cooking who wants to be more frugal whilst still living and eating well.
