helpfull as always 19 Aug 2011
By bear
Format:Paperback
as always LP is helpful and well worth the money. maps are good, highlights are useful and great suggestions(food, drinks, hikes...)! it gets you excited about heading out to the pacific northwest as well...
the only negatives are (off the top of my head) the prices for accommodation, you'd be much better off booking through a discount site on the internet, with the exception of camping or staying in hostels... the only other thing (just personally) is i'd like more pictures. photographers send in thousands of pic's constantly hoping to get into the lonely planet (without pay!). that's it though...
anyway, it's well worth the money...

Informative 29 May 2011
By Mr I M Ridpath - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Here for 18months and needed a book to show us around the entire pacific north west, also not just the big towns but we will be around a lot of areas that are not in the usual tourist destinations. This book however, seems to have it all!

Pros: Topical, informative, humorous, well written
Cons: None that i can find yet

Well worth a buy if you are doing any sort of travelling around the pnw!

I'll stick with Fodor's 31 Oct 2011
By Kristen Smarr - Published on Amazon.com

I thought I'd branch out and try a different travel guide for a recent trip to the Pacific NW so I purchased this guide (as well as the Fodor's guide for the same area.). I used both on the trip and felt, while the Lonely Planet guide offered some interesting tidbits, the Fodor's guide contained more usfeul substance.

Good reference 17 Aug 2011

The Lonely Planet does a very nice job at being a travel guide. I have preferred their books for over 20 years, with my first book being about Hawaii. They are comprehensive, easy to read, and there is a very logical flow to the book.
