About the Author
Dayle Ann Dodds is a former teacher and holds a degree in early childhood development. She is the author of several picture books, including The Shape of Things and The Great Divide, also written in rhyme. "Rhythm, rhyme and pattern," she says, "help young people remember small revelations in stories." She lives in Palo Alto, California. Tor Freeman received a degree in illustration from Kingston University in 1999 and went on to become a freelance illustrator. Pet Wash is her very first picture book. She says of it, "I wanted to illustrate the inventiveness of children's playing. How would a bear have its hair curled and styled? How do you wash a tiny ant? I imagined Wally and Gene raiding their parents' bathrooms and kitchens to gather and make equipment for all these jobs." Tor lives in London.
