this album was a long time coming..
tracks such as "house of death" "hand of doom" "warriors of the world" are AMAZING classic manowar albeit with modern production and a little more "oomph" on the mastering..
some of the "letdowns" could be atributed to the times around the recording of the albums (9/11) hence such tracks as "american trilogy" or "fight for freedom" ,(i would get kinda patriotic if 9/11 happened to MY city!.wouldnt you?) but the other above mentioned tracks cant be argued with..
and i defy you (if this is your kind of music)not to get a spinal shiver during "swords in the wind"..
overall.. a GREAT album...

Everything on this is worth listening to in my opinion, but the six songs that really stand out are:
Call to Arms,
Warriors of the World,
Swords in the Wind,
Hand of Doom,
House of Death,
and best of all Fight Until we Die.

Great metal tracks all, and the last three are must-hears.
If you only listen to three more songs before you go deaf make sure its them.

I can't say that most people [who like Metal in the first place] would like every song on here, but its worth the asking price just for the particularly good ones.

to describe this album as mixed would be an understatement.im at a loss as to why no reviewer(up to now) has mentioned `the fight for feedom`-what a song to exercise to! the `orchestral` stuff doesnt really work because instead of using wind and brass instruments, manowar have used cheesy(for this) keyboards.this album has many sensational songs but is too uneven to listen to the whole way through.what a moment at 2.13 on `sword into the wind`-play loud.

This album is a strange one, alot of fans complain that there's too much classical music and that their covers suck... they really don't - thats just their narrow minded opinions.

The albums about 45minutes in length, full of everything great about Manowar. Metal, Powerful Ballads and Singable choruses.

Songs like Call to arms, Hand of Doom and the title track are excellent examples of why they're one of the best at heavy metal and why Iron Maiden are soo weak. But you've also got stuff like An American Trilogy (sang beautifally) and The March giving a kind of Orchestral tribute to their heroes which are well written, well played, well sang and overall extremely well done for a Metal band thats aparently sooo full of themselves!

Overall this album is a cracker. it's short but sweet and has much variety! Open your mind and enjoy Manowar!

Hail And Kill!!!

A fantastic metal album. Maybe a bit too guitar orientated for a Manowar album (the bass always sounded to be the dominant instrument in all their other works) but it works.
Like the two previous albums, this has been polished in the production phase to a good finish unlike their early days which sounds rawer.
But hell, this is a good album, the only downside being the inclusion of "An American Trilogy." They explain their reasons for including it, and other songs though, so I guess you have to commend them for that. Their version of "Nessun Dorma" (aka Italia 90's theme tune) was dedicated to Eric Adams' mother whom passed away during the recording of the album. It is a storming rendition, and fits the category of the Manowar songs that make you feel (in a way) invincible well.
A great CD, which picks up the pace from "The March" onwards.

I wasnt sure what to expect from Manowars latest studio album, for some reason i didnt expect it would be one of their greatest albums. How wrong i was, this album is fantastic, the band are on fine form and all of the songs are very strong and uplifting. I would reccomend this to any heavy metal fan. Sheer, unrivalled class.

For me this is Manowars most mature and best album yet (by far). The mastering is way (I mean really in a BIG way) better than all their previous CD's (where the high frequencies tend to distort even on very high quality gear or Stax HPs), the album works for the first time as a whole, rounded, complete and creative work you can really listen to in one go-through. I don't get the criticism they received for this from a lot of fans. It shows they are really developing but still staying true to their very unique, one-off sound. Maybe it's because I am NO "fan"... :-/

This album is a good return to form by Manowar after 2 patchy studio albums! Despite the cover of American trilogy, the album contains a great collection of very heavy, but still catchy Manowar material. The title track along with the ferocious 'Fight Until We Die' are the best rocking tracks on the album. The slower track, Swords In The Wind is a classic, to the same standard as 'Heart of Steel' and 'Courage'!! Overall, I would recommend that you purchase this album if you like the 'Kings of Metal' album!! (Manowar's best in my opinion).
