Warriors delves deep into the warrior mindset - the rites of passage, the initiations, the rituals - to reveal what makes them rise above the rest of humankind to lead, to fight, and in some cases, to die. Each episode centres around the actions of our host, Terry Schappert, a dynamic adventurer embarking on a journey to discover what it takes to be a warrior. From the Maori to Medieval Knights, from William Wallace to Genghis Khan, from weapons to pre-battle rituals to initiations, the Warriors host will immerse himself in the cultures of the most famous warriors in world history. Presented by Terry Schappert, Green Beret in the US Army Special Forces.

Includes all 10 episodes of Season One and additional bonus footage never-before-seen on TV.

A well researched and insightful look at some of historys greatest warriors, who they were and what defined them.
Shappert is a perfect host -utterly enthusiastic, keen to step into the shoes of each warrior's training, rituals and getting to grips with their weapons- and in some cases- falling foul of them as well!!
His love of the subject matter is clearly evident and (as an ex-green beret and a warrior himself)his respect and awe for what made these men what they were helps you to greater understand their story.
This isnt a dull history lesson, its a practical, hands on step into the lives of the warriors.

Presented by a real life modern day warrior. Terry Schappert is not your usual documentary host. He doesn't lecture the audience like some boring old scholar - he performs on this show. A man with a formidible build and covered in tattoos, watch Schappert practice with weapons from simple clubs, daggers and staves, to swords and axes, bows, crossbows and a range of firearms, and even unarmed fighting techniques as he physically grapples with real life combat experts. Schappert never ceases to impress with his tremendous enthusiasm and his honest passion for the subject. He's not too serious, either, as he willingly makes fun of himself on camera when he is bested by the instructors, and keeps plenty of light-hearted humour with his use of expressions such as "Dude! Cool! Awesome! Aw, Man!"

Each episode follows a major military event as Schappert travels to the many exotic locales and immerses himself in the cultures that have been kept alive by historians, martialartists and descendants of the warriors who have shaped the world we now live in. Schappert gets to the heart of these warriors as he reveals the brutality exacted by the men who fought and died to conquer or protect their lands, but also the science behind creating their many weapons and armour, and ingenious strategies used to outwit and overpower their enemies.

3d animated maps and brief stylised reconstructions illustrate events as they are told by Schappert, but most of the storytelling is left to the imagination - Schappert actually tells us to imagine arrows flying at us and warriors dying around us. And with the dramatic soundtrack and Terry's lively performance with weapons, its not too hard to depict yourself in these bloody battlefields.

Its one of the best series I ve watched, I watched it when it was first on history channel and couldnt wait until the boxset.
The host Terry Schappert is a special forces solddier and is a brilliant host, enthusiastic and takes part in how battles were fought to get a proper feel of what it was like. This is a must buy for anyone interested in military history, you can watch it over and over and it doesnt get boring.
