Book Description

Discover the origins of the warrior Clans in the second book of this thrilling prequel arc from mega-bestselling author Erin Hunter. The Dawn of the Clans series takes readers back to the earliest days of the Clans, when the cats first settled in the forest and began to forge the Warrior code.

The mountain cats from the Tribe of Rushing Water followed the Sun Trail to a new territory, convinced that in a land with more prey, their lives would be free from strife. But while no cat has gone hungry, tensions are rising. The once firmly united group has split in two—and a young cat named Thunder is caught in the middle.

Dawn of the Clans #2: Thunder Rising also contains an exclusive bonus scene and a teaser to Dawn of the Clans #3: The First Battle.

Product Description

From the Back Cover

You will make things right.
When the time comes, I know you will.

Tensions between the cats from the mountains are rising in their new territory—and the once firmly united group has split in two. Caught in the middle is a young cat named Thunder. Rejected by his father, Clear Sky, Thunder has thrived under Gray Wing's watchful eye. But when Clear Sky invites him to join the camp in the forest, Thunder will be forced to decide between the bonds of loyalty and the ties of blood.

5.0 out of 5 stars Review 29 Dec. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
This was an enchanting read that I found really added to the series. I found that it added more backstory to an already rich plot whilst allowing you tantalising glimpses at where the story is going. All this was provided in an easy to read package, I would reccomened this to those familiar with the series and enjoy good writing.

5.0 out of 5 stars worth waiting for 10 Nov. 2013

and so we start to meet the leaders of the first clans! thunder is already showing the values that we come to expect from thunderclan, and we are introduced to wind, river and of course we already met sky in the first of these books. whew, thunder was right to be suspicious of clear sky, was glad when he finally realised which was the life for him, poor loyal grey wing, so frustrating to see his loyalty to his brother thrown back in his face, but it is interesting to see the characters start to show themselves, just can't make up my mind as to what jagged peak is up to. we have yet to meet shadowclans first leader or indeed have we? we will have to wait and see! the bonus chapters at the end telling us about river's arrival in the forest/on the moor was a true bonus and very readable. can't believe we have to wait until next april for the next book. by the way after clear sky's behaviour in this book am not surprised they were " thrown out" of the forest (even though i did feel sorry for them), poor misguided clear sky, is it worth being so ambitious, we shall see .........
