It's easy to knock a film like this but if you don't expect much more than a comic book-style Saturday matinee fantasy yarn, it's not bad. Obviously shot on a limited budget with a minimum of takes, the predictable plot moves along at a reasonable rate with enjoyment in direct proportion to suspension of belief. At least the action scenes are fairly well staged.

In the leading role, Joanna Pacula is actually better than she needs to be, considering the material. I've liked her ever since I saw her as Doc Holliday's woman in Tombstone. Here she is quite fetching and as good as the other three "angels" put together. Rutger Hauer has played this kind of part many times before and probably went through this project on auto-pilot. Even so, he's still better than most actors in the genre. And it's nice to see Arnold Vosloo playing something other than an evil mummy.

A cheap and cheerful fantasy flick - if you don't expect anything more, you will be reasonably entertained.

Hilarious, OTT, don't know what they were thinking when they made this except it must have cost all of $20 to make but is a great watch, almost pastiches itself. Charlies Angels meets Conan the Barbarian via Robin Hood, recommended.

Joanne Pacula stars as Elizabeth, a warrior who returns home to England from the third crusade. She discovers that her young son has been captured by Greggor a rouge warlord, played by Rutger Hauer. Having recuited three other female fantasy characters she sets about trying to free her son.

It was a mistake to make the background England. The costumes, weaponry, culture, countryside and history are all wrong. Why not set it as somewhere in Europe since there is not a single English accent to be heard?

The script has the feel of something draughted up in an afternoon. The four heriones are clearly not more capable fighters than the mass of wariors that they defeat along the way. Rugter Hauer has put on more than a few pounds, and is showing his age. He adds litte more than his name to this third rate production.

On the plus side the plot does move at fair place and it might just appeal to a tomboy, who likes fantasy roleplaying.

A Robin Hood type movie with women as heros worth watching but probably not appropriate for children. 24 Jun. 2015

I don't know if it is just me and I accept mediocre acting as OK or if the other rating is incorrect. I have seen movies with subjects in which I was really interested with acting so bad that I couldn't finish them. I have also seen cases where the dialog was really poor and the delivery amateur so I had to strain to watch. This movie WAS NOT like that. The story was typical of the Robin Hood stories; but, in this case, the hero was a woman - or really a group of women. The end title music was really nice. The acting was pretty good. The story pine and plot was not new; but it was a repeatable plot. The dialog was natural and well delivered. I felt like the actors were talking as the characters they were playing and not just reading the lines. The said them with appropriate feelings. There were a few flesh scenes so the movie might not be appropriate for youngsters. I did not notice any bad language. The violence was 50's o 60's level not so graphic. The settings and scenery was appropriate to the film. The costuming looked appropriate for the period. I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it.
