My son has started collecting coins and we bought this as a basic guide for him. He enjoys looking through it to match his coins although its small size inevitably restricts the number of coins that can be illustrated. Oddly, given its title, it does not include any US coins.

This was disappointing as it only includes Canadian but no other American coins and we chose it especially because the title was WORLD coins. The layout is clear and the reproductions are good but the omission of American coins made this of little use to us.

This is another book that I ordered for a ten year old who has become very interested in coin collecting. He is not a good reader but the clear pictures and good writing are just what he wanted.
