Update: just received a second unit. The 10 x side shelf supports were missing. Waiting to see how quickly the supplier can get these to me.
3 problems, first one is very slow delivery, took from 23rd august until 10th September, second quibble was ordered 3 units, and had to pay 3 lots of P&P I would have expected a reduction in costs of P&P, third problem was missing upright jointing plates in one unit, this was soon resolved, but did mean a further delay, and two out of four did not fit properly. I had to file down to get them in.
the actual units are quite good and I am reasonably pleased with them. pricewise I would give 5 stars, as they are better than a lot of others out there, and if not for the 3 reasons above they would have got the full 5 stars
Assembly is a lot simpler than the reviews might suggest owing to the "tab and slot" construction. I would follow the advice of another reviewer and make sure the parts are carefully aligned before hammering in each frame with a rubber mallet (pretty essential for successful assembly!) I would also assemble it one side at a time as this minimises the slight twisting of the verticals which may hinder alignment of the cross-frames higher up. Once assembled the product is very sturdy and feels very solid and trustworthy!
It is this type of construction that makes it very simple to assemble and very sturdy when built - a massive improvement over more traditional shelving that requires nuts and bolts at each join, which can work loose with use and lead to a fairly rickety set of shelves.
The other thing that clinches the 5-star rating is the size of the shelves. Being quite deep, they can accommodate some large items with ease. The height of each shelf can also be to your choice due to the many attachment points for the shelf frames.
The only error I made in construction was forcing one of the shelves into position at the top without making sure it was properly aligned. Being made of MDF, it of course chipped and broke off at one corner. This doesn't affect the function but was a shame!
We bought one of these initially to see for ourselves due to some troubling reviews - we will now go ahead and buy at least three more! The value for money is superb.
Construction was relatively straightforward, although you really do need the rubber mallet, so make sure to get one if you don't already have one. On my own managed to build both sides in about 30 minutes. You have to be careful and make sure all the tabs are lined up before you hit it into place otherwise the tabs can come out the back of the slots (which I learnt the hard way...)
Strength is good for the thickness of the MDF. Having said that I wouldn't like to stick 265kg on each shelf. I have loaded them up to about 50kg and wouldn't want to put much more on from the bowing of the board - plus net weight 1.3 tonnes on shelving this size just doesn't seem like it will stick.
Plastic feet were rubbish and I have now removed them as they have started breaking after a week of use.
In all very good quality and will definately buy again if the need arises.
-1 star for the feet (maybe rubber backed metal feet would be better suited?) and for me being sceptical about the loading weight :)

Very very good - they have transformed a disorganised garage; they are very easy to assemble.
I will be buying more.
Really good shelving for garage or shed. Easy to put together for most. But for the less technically minded the instructions are useless.Published 12 months ago by mr robert s foster
