*********

For the citizens of the People’s Republic of Virginia, their last hope of freedom has faded with their spirits. The eternal rains continue to fall. Tired, hungry, and soaked to fragile bones, there’s nothing left to do but march toward the only fate they have left: a life in slavery.

But not if Caroline can help it. She’s out of options, but giving up was never one of them.

Facing overwhelming new challenges and old enemies, Caroline soon learns that even when the bullets stop flying, the war is never over.

    About the Author

USA Today bestselling author Ernie Lindsey grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of southwest Virginia, working on the family farm and reading, and has spent his life telling stories to anyone that will listen. He currently works as a freelance writer and is the author of ten Mystery & Suspense novels and numerous short stories. When he's not writing, you can find him chasing a toddler, feeding a toddler, or cleaning up after a toddler. He remembers non-toddler things, but they're flimsy, gauzy mysteries. Ernie and his family live in Oregon, along with a multi-fingered Hemingway cat named Luna. 5.0 out of 5 stars Warchild: Spirit 19 Aug. 2014
By Sheri L. Reeves - Published on Amazon.com
    Format:Kindle Edition
Warchild: Spirit is the perfect culmination of the Warchild series. While books 1 and 2 left you hungry and wanting more, Spirit ties the the saga up very nicely. That is not to say that all is sunshine and roses in book 3, but the author carries us through Caroline's journey, along with that of her people, and we get a glimpse of what lies ahead for all of them. It really is a very dark, thought-provoking look at what our future could look like should history repeat itself. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire Warchild series and though I am sorry to see it end, I feel as if Mr. Lindsey, true to form, delivered just as many twists and turns in Spirit as he did in the first 2 books, keeping me guessing until the very end. and I am once again amazed at his artistry. I highly recommend the Warchild series to teens, young adults, and even the young at heart (yes, like me!).

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing adventure! 5 Jan. 2015
By Sandra L. Tougas - Published on Amazon.com
    Format:Kindle Edition
Had I not seen the first book was free in this series, I might never have read it or even noticed it. From the moment I started reading, I was caught up in the adventures of Caroline. I loved the first book and bought the next two. I can only hope to read more! I thoroughly enjoyed these books. I think one of the greatest things Indie Authors can do is to offer the first book free because if they are truly good writers they will have captured a new audience. Thank you for a wonderful adventure!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great reads 14 Oct. 2014

I bought the first book of this trilogy some time ago but didn't get around to it until now. I read all three in successive days, I had a hard time putting them down. I will certainly be looking for anything else written by Mr. Lindsey with great anticipation.

    3.0 out of 5 stars Anticlimactic 10 Jan. 2015
    By J. Miller - Published on Amazon.com
    Format:Kindle Edition
The entire trilogy feels like an introduction. The world is well setup, but it feels like one book setting up a series rather than a complete story in its own right.
