The first "UlladubUlla" 2CD remix album was released around 1999, and this 'sequel' is really a re-packaged selected highlights from that original remix album with only a couple of new remixes, by Tom Middleton and Zube, thrown in.
I'm a fan of the Jeff Wayne's original "War Of The Worlds" musical, but also a fan of remixes- something which Jeff Wayne himself isn't, apparently, and it's his record label rather than him personally that commissions and endorses these remix albums. That's a shame, as musically this remix album is very respectful- most of the mixes are done by talented musicians who manage to respect and enhance the original songs and bring new twists and turns to them, putting songs in different contexts.
H.G. Well's plot is thrown out of the window so listening to this album will not tell you the story of "War Of The Worlds". However, for fans of the original album, who are open-minded enough not to start shaking at the mention of the word "remix", this is a good listen. I think you'd have to listen to the original album first for this remix album to make any sense and to appreciate that there's some quality stuff on here. And one or two duff notes but you can't win them all.
