3.0 out of 5 stars A mad cap comedy 22 Dec 2003
By Ian
Format:DVD
An good comedy this, one which showcases Lewis's unique talent for playing the fool. For those who havent seen a Jerry Lewis film, think a prototype Jim Carrey type performance with a high pitched Tweety Pie voice thrown in. Martin is good without being spectacular, but Lewis gets the best songs including the hilarious "The Navy Gets the Gravy But the Army Gets the Beans". This was the first of the many Jerry and Dean movies and one which launched them to stardom in the 50s.

3.0 out of 5 stars Some laugh out loud moments 18 Jun 2006
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this dvd to impress my daughter with what made me laugh as a kid. The film takes a while to get going, but after about 20 minutes there are some really funny laugh out loud moments (when Jerry dresses up as a girl for instance!). The downside is definitely the poor quality dvd picture and sound.

If you want to be taken back to your youth however - for the price especially, it's worth a look.

3.0 out of 5 stars Average Jerry Lewis Comedy 6 Dec 2000
By A Customer
Format:VHS Tape
At War With the Army is an average Jerry Lewis comedy. If you like the team of Jerry Lewis and Dean Martin, then you'll definitely enjoy this film. Like all their films there's comedy and music. However, if you don't know who they are you'll probably not enjoy this film as it's quite dated now. It's not a bad film.
