My 10 year old is not a reluctant reader, but I do find it difficult to get him to agree to read new books - we spend ages in the library where he steadfastly refuses to look at anything! He has enjoyed several series of books recently, but I chose this as he had expressed an interest in the Second World War, and loves planes. I bought it for him yesterday and he has been unable to put it down since picking it up - ignoring TV, comptuer, and virtually everything else! To my mind that's a definite hit.

We love it 4 Oct 2010
Format:Paperback
My son wrote this review for a school project....

THREE BOOKS IN ONE,AIRPLANES AND INFANTRY.

This is a book your mum doesn't want you to read, but a great book for people who love war. Personally I love the RAF I love the airplane story because it has lots of action in it. All the stories give you a good idea about the environment they are in. It really says it all on the cover.

"I was in a plane. I saw a Jerry at 4 o'clock. I heard a series of bursts. A few scratching noises. I saw some holes in my right and left wing. Before I knew it I was gliding down to the sea. I kept thinking, `these might be the last breaths I ever take'.........."
