This film rates among my favourites.
I watched this when it came out in 1989.
Never heard of it, never knew of anyone who had seen it i rented it (VHS obviously...)
I knew of Billy Wirth (Vampire in The Lost Boys) and Kevin Dillon etc. And thought the plot looked interesting when i read the cover info.
Anyway..........
Without going too much into it, i was blown away. The ending in particular was very powerful and i had a lump in my throat. I felt a degree of anger too. That maybe in part due to my feelings regarding the 'white' Americans and the worst atocities to EVER happen. By that i mean 100's of native Americans wiped out. Extinct. No more.
This film will stir the emotions anyway, whatever your knowledge and thoughts/opinions are.
There are some very clever small 'messages' among the film which many paople i know who have enjoyed the film miss most or all of them. Will you see...?
This film MUST come out on DVD. I had the Video for years and transferred it to DVD. But obviously, the quality suffers.
There was an alternative ending for this film and i wonder if it would (it should!) end up on the DVD if... it ever see's the light of day.
