Product Description

THE ALIEN WAR RAGES ON
On DVD for the very first time. War of the Worlds: The Final Season continues the struggle between humans and aliens in a bleak, desolate world.

In the not-too-distant future of Almost Tomorrow, Earth has spiralled into a horrendous state, with the economy, environment, and government all in pieces. With no alien activity for months, the Blackwood Project has become weakened. But then a new set of aliens arrive on Earth the powerful Morthren!

The Morthren have discovered a method for transmuting into human bodies. They are fixated on perfection and worship the Eternal as their god. Now with the Cottage destroyed and two Blackwood team members lost in battle, the remaining humans set up base in an underground hideout and prepare for a second, even deadlier war.

4.0 out of 5 stars It makes no sense! 7 April 2013

Giving the show 4 stars was a bit kind, but it is more enjoyable to watch than the first season. There is very little continuity and all connections to the 1953 movie and the aliens from Mars are completely erased, that is except for one episode that takes us back in time, and that doesn't make sense, but then this show didn't make sense. It came at a time when TV company's patronised sci-fi fans and thought we were all stupid and would take anything thrown at us.

The Martians, the Morthren, the Mortex, who could make sense of it, did the aliens themselves know who they were or where they came from. But at least they acted like 'evil bad guys' so our heroes were obvious to us.

Gone were 2 characters from the first season and a hunkier Adrian Paul was brought in to take the central role. At least his acting wasn't quite so wooden! Like I said before, not as bad as the first season, but then the first season was so dreadful at times it was 'laugh-out-loud' funny. This season is more watchable, a trip down memory lane to the way TV was in the 1980's, but don't expect anything logical.

5.0 out of 5 stars War of the World TV series 22 Jan 2013

This was an excellent television series, which was made years after the Gene Barry film of the same title and in theory continues from that story about 20 years on. this was the final series. The first series is also on DVD which is a must before you buy this one. Don't know if any of the in between series will end up on disc.
Good and fast delivery by the supplier.
