Product Description

This is the diary of Kitty, an 18-year-old VAD (Voluntary Aid Detachment), during the years of 1939 and 1940. As a nurse working in the military hospitals in the south of England, Kitty sees at close hand the effects of war - notably the casualties of Dunkirk. The diary details the historical events and describes the day to day life of a young VAD in a military hospital in WWII. It's also a story about growing up. A girl transposed from a comfortable protected existence into the harsher world of a wartime hospital begins to learn a bit about life and relationships.

Sue Reid is a widely published author for children and has written My Story - Mill Girl for Scholastic

This book was exceptionally good and is now one of my favourites. It is about a woman called Kitty and her life as a nurse in WW2. It is v. good and allows you to get inside Kitty's head and be with her, whatever she is doing. Read it.

I am a collector of the My Story range of books i own 18 in totally and of all of these this book is my least favorate not because it is boring just because i think the person who wrote it did not really tell it properly and i did not understand most of it as at one time she would be in her small bedroom then suddenly it would jump to were she is in the ward i personally would not recomend to children under 14 as they will not understand it i am 17 read it twice since i bought i and still cant make sence of it
