Nowhere to hide...

What should have been a relaxing vacation in Paris turns into another unwinnable situation for expert criminology consultant Leopold Blake. Caught in the cross hairs of a ruthless assassin and on the run from the police for a murder he didn't commit, Blake and his team must fight to clear his name before it's too late.

As enemies close in from all sides, Blake is about to learn who he can trust - and who is determined to destroy him - as The City of Light becomes a new hunting ground. Wanted is another exhilarating instalment in the Leopold Blake series of thrillers, which can be read and enjoyed in any order.

Interview with the Author

Q - So, what makes the Leopold Blake series special?

A - It's a mix of things, really. When I set out to write these books, I wanted to create something that mirrored exactly the kind of books I like to read. My top picks are usually private detective novels, any of the thousands of thrillers and mysteries best sellers, and, of course, books featuring your classic pulp heroes. Basically, anything with a kick-butt attitude and fast-paced style gets my vote.

The Leopold Blake books are a great mix of these genres. You'll find the series focuses on the mystery and thriller / private detective genre overall, with a couple of financial thrillers thrown in for good measure, some political thrillers, and a serial killer novel or two to keep things interesting!

Overall, the Leopold Blake series is designed to keep you turning the pages - and I've made sure there's never a dull moment.

Q - What order should I read the books in?

A - I’ve written the series so you can read the books in any order, and all the story threads will tie up nicely by the time you're finished. If you do want to read them in order, I'd suggest the following sequence:

- Paydown (prequel)
- Wanted
- Panic
- Departed
- Ratio
- Fallen (coming soon)

Q - So, why should readers give these books a try?

A - Because the Leopold Blake series is a fast, fun, thrill-ride that takes no prisoners! Each of the books has hit the top ten bestsellers list on Kindle for Crime Thrillers, and each have been featured on Amazon's Thrillers 100 Must Reads list - which is no mean feat.

Ultimately, readers who enjoy lightning-fast pacing with a plot that twists and turns all the way to the end will get a kick out of this series.

Q - Can readers get the whole series in one go?

A - Sure. I've put together a few bundles if people want to save a little moolah and grab all the books in one swoop. Check out my author page here at Amazon for more details, and a full list of my available titles.

And thanks for reading!

4.0 out of 5 stars A Rewarding Reading Experience 8 Jun. 2014
By Aurora TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
My initial fears that this might be a little far fetched and not very gripping were quickly laid to rest as the enigmatic protagonist had to think his way through the dangerous situations he faced. His wasn't the only life at stake in this mystery, many people lost their lives and a couple of people he was very close to were endangered solely because of their relationship to him. It would appear that Mr Blake is prone to getting himself into dangerous situations, certainly he recognised the value of having a bodyguard to help him out. When his bodyguard is unfortunately detained, Blake is able to obtain the services of another one at very short notice through the auspices of his business associates. However, Blake comes to learn that there are few people you can trust, for him the adage of 'keep your friends close and your enemies closer still' takes on a whole new meaning. His impetuosity and courage makes him more vulnerable than he realises. although he isn't stupid. He knows that certain actions are dangerous but cannot see any other way to bring the truth into the open.

This is the first book in the Leopold Blake series which I have read and there are hints in the book of an intriguing character history, which did lead me to think that this was not the first book in the series, but I see from the title that it is. I look forward to seeing how it all comes together and develops further. The back story for this protagonist appears to be equally as interesting as his current predicaments. I look forward to another rewarding reading experience such as this has been.

As fast-paced as - perhaps even more than - his previous Leopold Blake stories, this is thrill-a-minute ride from start to finish. Typically of Stephenson, there are more twists and turns than ever before, to keep you guessing right up to the end.

We get to see more of the vulnerable side of our hero, and how he is dependant on other characters - his bodyguard Jerome and would-be-romance Mary. indeed, the love interest takes a step in the right direction, but........ who knows?

With the sub-plot of the mysterious high-tech boat, I'm sure there is plenty more to come on this intriguing character.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fast paced and suspenseful 12 Mar. 2015
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I hadn’t read any of Nick Stephenson’s books before and wasn’t sure what to expect. However, this was a fast paced action thriller involving art theft and murder, although I would say it is more of a thriller than a murder mystery.
Leopold Blake is an unusual main character. A criminology consultant who is also a wealthy business man, he becomes embroiled in the mystery surrounding an art theft from the Louvre, and the subsequent murder of the Louvre’s art director by a ruthless assassin. All the evidence points to him, although it is obvious he has been set up, and he goes on the run from the police to try to clear his name as well as solve the mystery of who is behind this elaborate setup. The chase involves action packed scenes, lots of suspense, and quite a lot of violence.
There were a few minor proof reading issues, but nothing that got in the way of the story or prevented me from turning the pages at an ever faster and faster rate.

5.0 out of 5 stars A good start to a great series. 9 Jun. 2015
Format:Kindle Edition
I am pleased with all of the Nick Stephenson books I have read and Wanted was truly a favorite. I’ve been to Paris twice and was pleased to see the story was set in Paris. Nicks writing is very good, easy to read, no harsh language and no embarrassing sex scenes. There are always twists and turns and I did have a hard time putting this book down.

The main characters are truly favorites of mine. Leopold Blake is a well off bachelor who probably works to keep from getting bored. He makes a bold entrance into Wanted – which is totally his style. His bodyguard, trainer and confidant is Jerome who I’m sure has an interesting past – with many secrets around the globe. Mary Jordan, NYPD is a hard working woman who may have put having a life on hold for a while for the sake of her career. Nick has developed some great characters that I have enjoyed following. Nick Stephenson does a great job setting up these characters in each book, so if you don’t read them in order, you’re still ok. However once you read one of the books, you’ll want to read them all. Be sure you find Paydown also – the prequel to Wanted.

You know Wanted is going to be good when there are dangerous chemical experiments and assassins all before the first chapter is done. The book had me on the edge of my seat to see what would come next. The adventure that Leopold, Jerome and Mary encounter in this book is interesting, and full of surprises. The supporting characters in the book are just as intriguing. The ending of Wanted is a surprise I did not see coming – and it got me hooked to see what would happen in Panic.

I highly recommend this book and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I can’t wait to read more of what Nick Stephenson has to offer.
