This is a riot of a film that you'll love or hate.
Ok, it's sometimes a bit silly, with a high violence quotient and some of the music is a bit banal. But if you like a really over the top, colourful, action film, then any minor faults are easily overlooked. Salman plays a mob enforcer in full action hero mode but always with a wink and a nod to the audience, and uses those wicked bedroom eyes on us to full advantage. Ayesha Takia is enchanting as the young woman of integrity for whom he falls, and who is torn between her horror when she understands what he does and her love for him. It took me a couple of viewings to get the hang of all the different villains he dispatches in increasingly huge fight scenes throughout the film but Mahesh Manjrekar stood out as the corrupt police officer.
And, to be honest, I'm going to love any film when, in a climatic fight scene having been hit by a molotov cocktail, Sallu beats out the flames of his burning shirt with his bare hands, rips off its charred remains and finishes the fight with naked torso.
