5.0 out of 5 stars Finding the Golden Thread of Our Purpose, 12 Jul 2006
By I. G. Hacking (Valencia, Spain) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Tim Drake was an outstanding marketing man before becoming an entrepreneur. He understands human needs & how to satisfy them. In his first book published in 1998 he created a practical handbook for personal survival & prosperity in the unpredictable world of work. In 2000 the stockmarket crash came, property prices collapsed & unemployment levels rocketed. How prescient!
In this new book he addresses the growing need (which he validates) that many people feel to seek fulfilment in life by making a difference. He brings focus to this general desire to help others. His concept of the Make a Difference Mindset, which is at the core of the book, "enables us to develop competence to ensure that difference making is a conscious skill that positively improves situations, relationships, lives & societies". The author has thus set a vast stage to play on but is always practical in his approach.
The crucial choice which Drake helps the reader evaluate & choose is each person's purpose for life--"finding the golden thread of purpose".
The author is very well read & offers theory & observation in a balanced way. He writes straightforwardly & simply in a stimulating & provoking manner. He will help change many lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars brilliant!, 27 Oct 2005
By A Customer
I am one of many that feel they have a potential to make more of a difference than they are currently, but are not sure where to put this energy.

This book is a gem at making you focus on your life and helping you find your purpose. More than a self-help book this really gets you going and has an appeal to anyone with this more-to-give inkling

Highly reconmmended.
