WALTER SMITH THE STORY OF A RANGERS LEGEND WALTER SMITH is arguably the greatest Rangers manager of all time and his achievements at Ibrox undoubtedly make him one of the most successful bosses in world football. A born and bred Rangers supporter who used to travel from his home in Carmyle in Glasgow s East End to follow the team, he lived the ultimate dream. He was brought to the Club by Graeme Souness as assistant manager in 1986 and was at the hub of the renaissance of Rangers. In his first spell as manager between 1991 and 1998 he led the Light Blues to a remarkable haul of 13 major trophies which included the Treble, the Double twice and, of course, 9 in a Row. Arguably his second spell between 2007 and 2011 is even more impressive, winning seven?? major trophies and led Rangers to the UEFA Cup final in 2008 against a backdrop of financial difficulties. This DVD tells the whole remarkable story of Walter Smith through his playing and coaching days at Dundee United and his spells as manager of Everton and Scotland, as assistant at Manchester United and his time at Rangers. With fantastic contributions from Sir Alex Ferguson, Ally McCoist, Ian Durrant, Kenny McDowall, David Weir, Steven Naismith, Jim McLean, Archie Knox and Graeme Souness as well as the man himself this is a must for all fans.

This is a fantastic dvd set, spanning the entire footballing career of walter smith. It begins with his early days playing junior football, right through to his days at ibrox. As mentioned in another review, the footage of his playing days is not excellent. However I am not going to say it is poor. At the end of the day, remember smith played in the 70's, the footage is always going to be worse then now days. Overall though a must for any rangers fan, and anyone who can appreciate a good footballing man, and manager.
Presented in a outer cardboard sleve, and 4 disks contained within the pack, it has aprox 6 hours of footage in the package.

this is a great 4 disc dvd set and is well laid out over 4 discs. My only problem is with the 4th disc as alot of the match footage is really bad and considering the price of the set should be much better.

This one is for Rangers fans. Great to relive the glory years of the late eighties and the nineties. This will bring back wonderful memories for the followers of the worlds most successful football club.Lots of clips, interviews and action as the legend that is Walter Smith sweeps all before him, and leads the Rangers to nine championships in a row.A must for true fans of football and especially the Scottish giants.This DVD shows why Rangers have such a huge fan base and why over a quarter of a million fans travelled to watch their team play in the UEFA cup final in 2008.A must for all Rangers fans.
