Product Description

Product Description

Walt Disney is an American hero--the creator of Mickey Mouse, and a man who changed the face of American culture. After years of research, with the full cooperation of the Disney family and access to private papers and letters, Bob Thomas produced the definitive biography of the man behind the legend--the unschooled cartoonist from Kansas City who went bankrupt on his first movie venture but became the genius who produced unmatched works of animation. Complete with a rare collection of photographs, Bob Thomas' biography is a fascinating and inspirational work that captures the spirit of Walt Disney.

I am a self-confessed Disney nut and therefore any material on the man and the magic I will probably enjoy.

This book was a brilliant insight into the man behind the magic and was very much worth a read by anyone even if you are not a Disney fan.

My only criticism was that the book appeared rushed during WD later life and I would have enjoyed learning more during this period, i.e. the time leading up to WDW Resort in Florida.

Even so, well worth the money

Drawn largely from interviews with one hundred or so family, friends, and co-workers, this biographical sketch allows Walt Disney to shine as the wonderfully imaginative innovator that he was. Bob Thomas creatively transfused enough quotes and facts to draw the reader into the picture. It is quite literally the best biography I have ever read--and this, coming from a lover of biographies.

Pure Disney magic! 26 Nov 1998
By A Customer
Format:Paperback
By reading this book - you will learn an awful llot about the man and the company he founded. The book is easy to read and has a nice, but if all too small, picture section.

I have reviews that this is a little one sided but it has drawn on hundreds of sources and uses offical materials extensivly.

I am a true Disney fan and will therefore enjoy most Diosney related books but this is good for anyone with an interest int eh name and his making.

Go, on read it!
