Product Description

Review

'What's cool about Phaidon Press' Wallpaper City Guides is that they're small enough to fit in a purse or backpack, and colorful enough to find amidst all the other stuff crammed in there. What's even cooler is that they cut through all the regular travel-brochurese and focus on the edgiest nightclubs, restaurants, hotels, gyms, spas and stores.' Sky-Delta Airlines 'Ultra-stylish.' Time Magazine 'Attractive and well-researched.' USA Today 'While the pocket-sized guides will look very slick lined up on a shelf, they're made for travelling.' Easyjet 'Concise, informative manuals from people who've actually been there. They're refreshingly devoid of details on the nearest backpacker's hostel, too. And they look very pretty.' Esquire 'Sophisticated but simple.' The New York Times

About the Author

4.0 out of 5 stars Some good recommendations, but a bit short 27 July 2013

This book is good if you want a quick overview, and want to find some places that are off the beaten track. Admirably concise, and doesn't repeat stuff you'll find elsewhere, but could do with being a bit longer, with more places listed.

1.0 out of 5 stars Utterly pointless 3 April 2014
Verified Purchase
Possibly the worst travel guide I've ever bought. It only focused on contemporary Vienna, left out much of its history and the main sights! I realise that there is more to a city than its cathedrals but in Vienna, one of the great joys is discovering its history through museums like the Belvedere or the Leopold. This guide was utterly rubbish and only focused on new design in Vienna. I actually had to buy another guide before we went.

If you're thinking about buying this guide, don't bother. In our view, it's the worst guide book we've ever come across
