Product Description

This repackaged 2007 edition of Aardman's Wallace and Gromit's 3 Cracking Adventures will crack you up with laughter again and again! There's cheesy fun for all in these fantastically popular three short animation films from Aardman. Includes:

A Grand Day Out: Wallace likes a nice bit of cheese with his crackers, so when this eccentric inventor finds his fridge empty and the local cornershop shut for the Bank Holiday, he is forced to look further afield for his cheddar. His faithful dog Gromit is used to his master's flights of fancy but this time his ears prick up with excitement because our two plasticine heroes are about to blast off in their home-made rocket on the ultimate day trip - Wallace and Gromit are off to the moon.

The Wrong Trousers: This time it's action and laughter all the way as our plasticine stars are plunged into a hilarious tale of skullduggery involving an extraordinary pair of automated trousers and a villainous penguin. Posing as an innocent lodger, the friendish fish-easter sets about recruiting mild mannered Wallace as an unwitting accomplice to his dastardly plot - a diamond heist with a technically advanced, trouser-inspired difference. It is left to the faithful Gromit to turn detective and save the day as malice and mayhem culminate in a breathless train-top chase - around the sitting room!

A Close Shave: Trade is booming for Wallace and Gromit's Wash'n'Go window cleaning service and love is in the air as Wallace falls for the owner of the local wool shop, the lovely Wendolene Ramsbotom. But Wallace has a new incentive - a Kinit-O-Matic machine - and adventure looms: sheep are being rustled, wool is in short supply and Wendolene's malevolent pooch is on the prowl . . . Featuring Shaun the Sheep.

5.0 out of 5 stars All Classics 16 Aug 2009
The original Wallace and Gromit half-hour adventures. And it's easy to see why the series became as popular as it did!

A Grand Day Out -
Wallace and Gromit go to the moon because Wallace is out of cheese. Probably the weakest of the adventures but still a lot of fun and you have to forgive the slight amateur feel as it was their first outing on a very low budget. Many good jokes to keep you amused though, particularly during the scene in which they build the rocket.

The Wrong Trousers -
An evil penguin lodges with Wallace and Gromit and has some very interesting plans involving Wallace's new invention. Best of the bunch, with a strong intriguing plot, a fantasticamount of tension, a terrifying villain (despite the fact that he doesn't speak or even change his facial expressions!) and a climactic train-top chase that can easily rival anything Michal Bay can make!

A Close Shave -
Wallace falls for local wool shop owner Wendolene after she employs their new window-cleaning service but Gromit has his suspicions about her pet dog. This one comes a very close second behind The Wrong Trousers, with another exciting and very funny plot. The introduction of a second speaking character doesn't in any way detract from the relationship between the two leads, the non-verbal bad guy is again very threatening and the climactic action scene this time covers a whole third of the running time! Also features the debut of Shaun the Sheep, who was so popular he went on to star in his own series.

All three -
All the adventures offer something for everyone, both kooky characters and colourful settings for the kids, as well as witty one-liners and intelligent plots for the adults. The animation is great, and it's nice to see the slightly more hand-made look to these three films, as opposed to the more polished Hollywood look of the next two (which are also fantastic). Recommended for anyone of any age with a sense of adventure and an even better sense of humour!
