this is not for the faint hearted if you mourn for grand buildings! the book is brillianntly laid out with small sections of street map showing where the pictures where taken.it WILL make you want a trip up town to try and find some remnants of old london before any more sweeping away!

Don't let the rather dated cover put you off this book. I have found it absolutely fascinating, with its wealth of old street photographs (most of which I can guarantee you wouldn't have seen in other books of 'old London'), and its clear layout, guiding you along various walks around London, this is one of the best books of a (mostly) vanished London you can find.
