Tim Locke, based in Sussex, has an encylopaedic knowledge of Britain's landscapes, places and stories. He has walked thousands of miles while researching some 500 walks for various publications, including the pioneering Good Walks Guide, and has travelled in every county and national park. He is keenly wedded to the notions of sustainable and Slow tourism ('very much what 21st-century travel should be about'), and as well as editing for Rough Guides is series manager of Bradt's Slow guides, and is the author of Slow Sussex & South Downs National Park.
