This book has been most enjoyable showing us the countryside with which we live in. 8/10 the directions are good, but along with the book age and farmers/landowners etc. have let some of the public footpaths grow over or wired them off which has sent us off on a few goose chases. We have found in particular the 3 mile walks in and around the Wealden area to be the most frustrating, taking us out of the way and which produces a lot of road walking taking us back to our starting point.
5/10 pubs are very welcoming, but others which are very quiet make you feel a bit of a nusiance! But the other half certainly make up for them!
But on the whole we have really enjoyed the book and where it has taken us!

Since moving down to Sussex 2 years ago my husband and I have used this book so many times. We love going out for walks as a family with our daughter in the back pack. Most of the walks are lovely and a reasonable length. There are so many lovely pubs in Sussex which are covered in this book. This book is a really good way of viewing the beautiful Sussex countryside. However some routes aren't as easy to follow as you'd like but perhaps that just adds to the charm. An updated version would be welcomed.

I must highly recommend this book, we have used it many times since purchasing, it is always accurate, except fine detai that may of change since printing, yet this book asks the reader to inform the writer of any new details. The act this book is light weight helps too. So if you like to or would like see a bit more of east sussex this book it great, and for people like me who are new to east sussex was as is perfect.
