Simply flicking through this guide book was inspirational. I was immediately attracted to the gradient profiles and decided on Walk 19: St-Martin-des-Prés partially based on the profile. I prefer to get the ups done early in the walk.
The tracks mentioned in the directions are mostly grassy and wide, ideal for group walking. The lake side is just delightful, under the shade of trees. The road sections were very quiet.
I particularly liked the inclusion of - at top and at bottom in the directions. I was pleasantly surprised at the accuracy and clarity of such a small map. With the direction numbers marked it was clear to me precisely where I was. At the only point were I did wonder, the helpful hint - look for the spire ... was reassuring.
I diverted to chapel St-Jean and St-Roch, taking a refreshment break at St-Jean, at a picnic table in the shade. Including these, I completed the walk in three hours and enjoyed every step.
Overall, I found the instructions very easy to follow, the colouring being most useful, the description of the walk, the time, the profile and the level were spot-on. I confidently look forward to using this guide again, soon.
