Product Description

Fully updated for the most intrepid London visitors and residents, this spine-chilling guide wends it way through eerie and, in many cases, long-forgotten parts of England's capital city. From Deadman's Walk and the Screaming Wood to Dick Turpin and Jack the Ripper, professional tour guide and inveterate ghost hunter Richard Jones leaves no haunted house or lost soul unmentioned. Join him on a truly hair-raising journey through shadowed alleyways, sleepy pubs and the darkest recesses of London's historic homes - if you dare! Chillingly illustrated with atmospheric pictures and complete route maps - and with full details of transport, opening times and the moments when ghosts are most likely to appear - "Walking Haunted London" is another winning title from New Holland's London series.

This book contains 25 haunted walks in and around London, its very detailed and guides you through the walk every step of the way so you don't miss a turning or spooky alleyway, there is a brief history of the places you walk by and through and for those of you that don't really like walking there's lots of haunted pubs to break up your journey. A very interesting and enjoyable book which made me go out in the snow looking for ghosts!

These Walking London guides are superb and this one is no exception. If you love things ghostly and ghoulish, this is the book for you. This book even has the dates and times when ghosts are more likely to appear. How cool is that? The historical facts and detailed walks give you that added extra. Maps and photographs illustrate the book. It's a complete guide to haunts for the haunted. This review first appeared on Karen Platt's book review website.

Great If you want to do the walks but also excellent background info for general sight seeing trips or even just for nights out in Covent Garden. This book recommends the best haunted watering holes
