Paddy Dillon is a prolific walker and guide book writer who has over 40 books to his name. He has walked extensively around all the Channel Islands, delighting in hopping from island to island. By walking the coastlines several times, as well as walking deep inland, he has developed a great knowledge of all the islands have to offer.

With this book and a bus timetable linear walks on Guernsey, if you can truly describe the south coast path as linear, were made relatively easy to accomplish. Herm is easy, just keeep the sea on the same side, but the book highlighted beaches, cafes, and toilets. We spent too much time over lunch on our visit to Sark so the walks described will have to wait for another day.

I found this book very useful as it gives a brief description of each walk with details on which bus routes run to the start/finish and all important refreshment stops along the way! It is also small so can easily fit in your bag with you out walking and includes nearby islands of Herm and Sark. Tip:Avoid going to Sark on a Sunday as everything closes at 2.30pm and if the weather isnt good you're stuck in the rain as the ferry doesnt go back until 5pm.
