Product Description

Product Description

This work explores what it means to be a saint, to always be walking on the edges - geographically, physically and spiritually. Saints give us an idea of what we could be if we had the courage and faith to move out of our comfort zones and truly begin to live in the presence of God. The author calls on us to take this path, painful as it may be, since it is the only way open to the Christian serious about growing in faith. "Walking the Edges" is inspired by the stories of St Martin, St Patrick, St Cuthbert and other.

About the Author

David Adam is one of the best-loved figures in Celtic spirituality, and author of many successful books including most recently A Celtic Psaltery (SPCK, 2001) and, with Robert Cooper, Island of Light (SPCK, 2002). He is the Vicar of Lindisfarne, which receives thousands of pilgrims each year.

By N. Gratton VINE™ VOICE
Format:Paperback
The main part of each chapter gives a short biography of the life of one of the celtic saints. There are also related anecdotes from the author's own life, and discussion on how the principles from both these things can be applied into our lives. At the end of each chapter are exercises - prayers and meditations to help the reader focus on the teaching from the text.

It's a good little book. The author's viewpoint is outside of the average Christian book, striking in its simplicity, and that's no bad thing.
